Hey, how are you doing? My name is Jonathan González, and this site is my small contribution to the World Wide Web and the Internet.

A bit of myself

I was born, raised and, as of today, I’m living in a small city called Gijón, in the North of Spain. Local history, traditions and culture somehow helped giving form to my character and moral code.

Over the course of my entire life, I’ve studied two BSc, one in Computer Science and another in Library and Information Science. I’ve also studied three MSc on LIS, Security Management and CyberSecurity. All of them provided me the necessary vision to perform professionally. At some point in the future, I plan to enter the PhD program, but I didn’t set an exact date yet. Most probably I’ll never enter the education industry, so, this is more of a personal challenge than anything else.

Among my hobbies I can count practicing sports, long walks, ham radio, bushcraft/camping and travelling.

A bit of my craft

I’m a seasoned professional, with nearly 25 years of experience on IT industry. For 15 years, I’ve been working abroad homeland, chasing my passion for the technology. Now I’m more settled physically, enjoying the benefits of remote work, but my mind never stopped expanding over new frontiers.

In my career I’ve found inspiration, and gathered rich background, working on information security, cybersecurity, networking & system administration roles, both at the technology and at the strategy levels. Personally, I consider, with hard work, I could managed to help multiple organisations, and that really gives me satisfaction and a bunch of confidence for new challenges.

I had the opportunity to work in all kind of organisations, small ones, SMBs and blue chip, as contractor, permanent on payroll and as solo-entrepreneur, running my own company. This experiences granted me the necessary background to guide others and provide insightful conversations.
